What the Weekly Cardio Minutes Planner can and cannot tell you
The Weekly Cardio Minutes Planner performs simple deterministic arithmetic. For each row, it multiplies days by minutes. It then sums the rows by selected intensity, calculates actual cardio time, and applies the 2:1 vigorous-to-moderate rule only to the moderate-equivalent display. There is no hidden calorie formula, fitness score, or prediction model.
Because intensity is self-classified, the result is only as useful as that classification. Heart rate, pace, perceived exertion, breathing, terrain, weather, training status, and medications can all affect how hard an activity feels. A person using the Weekly Cardio Minutes Planner after a long layoff may classify a pace differently from someone who has trained consistently for years.
The calculator also does not estimate calories. Energy expenditure varies with body size, activity type, efficiency, pace, gradient, environmental conditions, and other factors. If energy expenditure is your separate question, use the Cardio Session Energy Estimate Calculator or MET Calories Burned Calculator, while treating those outputs as estimates rather than exact measurements.
For adults with chronic conditions, disabilities, pregnancy, postpartum considerations, recent illness or injury, symptoms with exertion, or uncertainty about safe exercise, a general web planner cannot replace appropriate clinical guidance. The Weekly Cardio Minutes Planner is educational and organizational; it should not be used to diagnose conditions or override professional advice.
